Is The Refining Lotion safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Yes, our Refining lotion is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding since the content of the Salicylic acid is only at 0.135%.
What is the right way to use The Refining Lotion?
After cleansing, dispense onto cotton pad and apply to the face, neck and chest morning and evening with tapping motions. Continue with your other skincare routine. Slight tingling sensation and flushing are normal. Reduce frequency if sensitivity occurs.
I feel a burning sensation when I use The Refining Lotion.
Do not use scrub, retinol, peeling skincare or other AHA & BHA treatment with OLUMES.This indicates that your skin has micro tear/wound on the surface (tear or wound that you can’t see with naked eyes), this happens by using harsh scrubs, peeling products, or retinol based products. Stop using scrubs, or any peeling products for at least 5 days before continuing using The Refining Lotion.
Is It normal to have a flushing effect when I use The Refining Lotion?
Yes it is normal. Flushing effect or temporary redness may occur in some sensitive skin types when The Refining Lotion is applied. This is because of the combination of AHA, BHA and PHA in the formulation. This is only temporary (last about a few seconds to a few mins) and once your skin gets used to it, it will have no more flushing effect.
Why does my Refining Lotion & Clarifying Toning Lotion smell like kimchi?
Since fragrances are known sensitizers – we do not put any fragrance in all of our products, so the smell actually comes from the mixture of the ingredients itself.
How many days can I see the initial result?
Depending on your skin conditions, it might take 5-14 days to visibly see or feel improvements.
Is this suitable for all skin types?
Yes, The Refining Lotion & The Satin Cream is formulated for all skin types, including sensitive skin, and for both men and women. If you have any particular sensitivities, we recommend checking the ingredients carefully and consulting your doctor if you have any further concerns.
Can I use The Refining Lotion around my eyes?
Due to the inclusion of AHA in the formula, we do not recommend applying The Refining Lotion too close to the eye area.
Can I use The Refining Lotion alongside other acids or retinoids in my beauty routine?
The Refining Lotion is formulated with AHA, BHA & PHA to replace the need for other exfoliators (eg. physical scrubs) and other acids or retinoids in your routine. Thus, we would not recommend using it in conjunction with other acids, retinoids or exfoliators.
Do I need to use sunscreen ?
We recommend to use a separate daily sunscreen or sunblock products to protect your skin from the damaging UV rays. Avoid immediate sun exposure after applying The Refining Lotion.
Caution: Do not use on burned or irritated skins. If irritation occurs, cease use and consult a physician. Avoid contact with the eyes. Use suitable Sunscreen. External use only.
SUNBURN ALERT: The Refining Lotion contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothes, and limit sun exposure after using this product for a week afterwards.
